Bio

My name is Melissa. I'm 23 years old. I was born in the beautiful state of Florida, where I lived throughout most of my childhood. I have such wonderful memories growing up there, and I painfully miss it at times, especially the family and friends we left behind. I relocated to Phoenix, Arizona with my mom and younger brother, Andrew, when I was twelve. Adapting to such a new and unfamiliar place was challenging at first, but the city really grew on me. Of course, I'd like to relocate somewhere greener one day, but Phoenix will always hold a very special place in my heart. Afterall, it's where I met the love of my life, had my first child, made some wonderful friends, and built a life I've always dreamed of. Things aren't perfect, but I'm really happy with the direction my life is going.

I'm married to my best friend, James, and we've been together for over five and a half years. We were married on October 6, 2008, and though it was a spontaneous event (and about time!), it was a total dream come true, nonetheless. James is truly the most wonderful person I've ever known, and he completes me on so many different levels. We grew up together, and his kindness and positive influence has helped mold me in to a better human being. We bought our very first home together in Avondale last April, something we're very proud to have accomplished, and are currently basking in the joys and splendor of homeownership.

James and I have a beautiful daughter named Summer, who is two and a half years old, and our whole world. She is extremely bright for her age. She knows her entire alphabet and can count to 60, and we're told she has quite an extensive vocabulary for her age. She's a lover of Sesame Street and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and could easily watch her DVDs all day if we let her. She loves books and flash cards, though I think she's more intrigued by the pictures than actually learning the words. She is just starting to learn how to spell words. So far, she can spell things like "cat", "dog", "car", and "Summer". At this rate, she'll be ready for kindergarten by the time she's three! She's very social and outgoing, and loves greeting random strangers that we pass at the store. She never ceases to make me laugh and is a huge goofball, just like her daddy. I love this little girl more than anything possibly imagineable.

I am also the proud mommy to a beautiful kitty named Roxy Bella, whom I absolutely adore. She has such a wonderful little personality that sometimes I forget she's a cat and not a person. She's lovable and friendly, and the definition of a scaredy cat. I just love her so much!

I work full-time at Bank of America, where I've been employed for the past three and a half years. I'm an online sales representative that assists site visitors with applying for new accounts. I absolutely love what I do. It's by far the most interesting and fun job I've ever had.

I'm extremely hardworking and dedicated to work and family. I'm ambitious, and aspire to achieve great things in my life. I'm responsible and always try to plan ahead. I'm a huge perfectionist, but I've learned to accept it as a positive quality instead of a flaw. I always try to be the best at what I do, and I won't settle for anything less than I feel I deserve. I'm optimistic, though I have my moments of pessimism like everyone else. I'm outspoken, and not afraid to speak my mind. I forgive, but I never forget. I don't spill secrets, and I'm one of the most trustworthy people you'll ever meet. There are things I'm still learning about myself, and things I've yet to discover. Overall, I'm an intelligent, kind-hearted human being, who always tries to see the good in everything.

As far as interests, I love road trips and traveling, and I dream of traveling all over the world one day. I'm a lover of the ocean and beach, mainly due to my Florida roots. I enjoy keeping in touch with friends and penpals through snail-mail. I'm a fan of movies, music, and television dramas. I'm also a huge fan of stand-up comedy. I love anything and anyone that can make me laugh. I enjoy writing and blogging. I love photography. I would love to be a wildlife photographer, if I ever had the opportunity. Sometimes I feel so old, and sometimes I feel so young. I never really feel my age, but I guess that's how life goes.
